Apology and Paris

I just want to say that I apologize profusely for the almost total air-headed totty-headedness of the last entry. I've corrected the spelling of Beguinhof, I've removed the imaginary beggar-women, and I have (I hope) perpetrated no new enormities.

Next time, if I'm not absolutely sure of my facts, I'll look them up before opening my big yap. Believe it.

We're in Paris now, just about off to a friend's soutenance de these--that's dissertation defense--at the Sorbonne. It's about manuscripts of the Prose Romance of Alexander (the Great, that is), and will gain her a doctorate in Art History. We're proud and touched to be asked to attend, and I'm going to concentrate very hard to understand what I can. But I suspect I'm going to be pretty much at sea until the pot, the reception afterwards, also at the Sorbonne.
