Barcelona Continued

OK, I didn't mean to post that last bit, but it posted itself when I told it to "save." I've learned better now.

I am writing on a train on the way to Madrid, which used to take 8 hours but now (thanks to the glory of high-speed train travel) takes just 4 and a bit. The Mediterranean Sea is on one side, some lovely rocky coast and many palm trees are on the other, I have a glass of cavas (Spanish bubbly wine--nice and dry), and life is good.

There follows a great deal of writing about Sagrada Famiglia and foodCollapse )

After a very late night last night that began with Lucullan meal with Lawrence and Isma, and Luis and his girlfriend Agnes, and ended with a walk around central Madrid with Luis and Agnes, and a day-trip to Toledo today, I'm not entirely inclined to do much in the way of posting tonight. Day after tomorrow, however, I'm going to be on the Tren Negra for almost 8 hours, during which I can at least catch up on the highlights of the past few days.

I do have to report, though, that we saw that guy last night in a small square--the scruffy guy, with the bad teeth and the dreads. In Madrid The same guy who was in Barcelona Monday. It couldn't have been anybody else, trust me. He was even playing "My Way."
