I was trolling YouTube for Ruddigore clips, and came upon this.  Enjoy.

He was such a great actor, with such a great voice. I remember hearing him recite some Poe poems, especially Annabel Lee, and he did it brilliantly.

Is this still G&S, because it's not how I imagined their work?

Oh, yes. Absolutely G&S. The dialogue is sometimes even better than the song lyrics (no strained rhymes). Mollock about on YouTube yourself, and you should get more of taste of it. Also, rent Topsy Turvey, which is one of my favorite Period Pieces ever, giving a sense of what it was like to be alive in the London of the period for normal people. High tech reservoir fountain pens! Wind-up telephones! Cheap oyster dinners for actors who couldn't afford anything better!

I shall certainly have a look on You Tube. I have a feeling that all I've previously seen are musical snippets from The Pirates of Penzance.

Oh, marvelous! And it's available from Netflix too. I've just added it to my queue. Thank you!

I'm beginning to think we'll have to join Netflix.

Marvelous. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And every once in a while he actually let the G&S come through.

Love the frocks
